Air Brake and Vacuum Tube Assemblies

Ray Precicomp supports polymer tube assemblies for selected pneumatic and vacuum applications in automotive and commercial-vehicle systems. The design and material must meet the pressure or vacuum conditions and all requirements defined for the particular application.

Application Scope

  • Air-brake tube routing where specified by the customer
  • Vacuum lines and brake-booster connections
  • Selected air-suspension and pneumatic routing
  • Application-specific tube, connector and retainer assemblies

Design Considerations

  • Required pressure or vacuum envelope
  • Tube flexibility, routing geometry and bend transitions
  • Temperature and environmental exposure
  • Connector retention and sealing interfaces
  • Vibration, abrasion, installation and service considerations

Tube and Connector Integration

A tube assembly is more than the tube alone. The selected tube, end preparation, connectors and retainers must work together within the customer’s packaging and installation requirements. Interfaces and assembly details should be confirmed against the drawing and specification.

Inspection and Application Testing

Inspection methods and acceptance criteria should be agreed for each part. Pressure, vacuum, leakage, retention or durability testing must be defined by the relevant customer requirement; no single test plan should be assumed to apply to every application.

Development Support

Ray Precicomp can support drawing review, tube and connector integration, assembly development, fitment feedback and coordination of customer-defined inspection or validation activities.
